As California’s population grows and the number of people afflicted with Alzheimer’s Disease increases, it is critical that we find new and innovative outreach methods to train our professional workforce. The assembled expertise of the UCD-Sacramento CADC has been tapped to give an annual series of one hour lectures for primary care physicians to help them best serve and care for California's diverse population who have Alzheimer's disease and associate disorders and their families. These presentations are aired live on UCTV, edited for YOUTUBE, and are also placed on a web-site offering free CME to California physicians and allied health professionals.
According to the UCTV site these one-hour lectures have been viewed by more than 102,700 professionals. The following presentations are available on the web at www.cmecalifornia.com and provide free CME for physicians:
We are developing an innovative web-based "action plan" evaluation for these lectures which can also be accessed through YOUTUBE and UCTV.
A second set of presentations is planned for the summer and fall of 2010.
