Video Visit Elders Project (VVEP)

The Video Visit Elders Project (VVEP) was a project that was born due to the rapidly changing systems in patient visits in response to COVID-19. The project began immediately after the shelter-in-place order in San Francisco in mid-March 2020 and lasted through June 2020, and utilized the skills of multiple clinical research coordinators who had to halt their usual work. Our goal was to video-enable older patients scheduled for office visit appointments in UCSF General Medicine in the early days of the pandemic so that they were able to keep their appointments as video visits, or for those who were unable to be vide-enabled, to convert their visits to telephone visits.
